Boys and Girls

The other night we were at Alex's football scrimmage.
E, D, and Peyton were all playing at the playground.
Drew kept running over to us
yelling the girls are chasing us and trying to kiss us!!!
Peyton ran over and said,
Mom, those girls gave us a note
that said they want to kiss us!
It was SO SCARY!!
Then under his breath I heard him say,
I mean it was so cute!

Another School Year Begins

We just got back from taking the boys to school.
Before we left Drew said,
I'm so glad that no one will
be in love with me today!
Well, it turns out the little girl with her heart
filled up with love for Drew is in his class.
I don't know what he'll think about that.

E starts his 5th grade A.L.L program today.
He informed me I could not take any
pictures of him at school today.
(He's growing up!)
This is all he'd allow this morning.

Alex's 3rd grade teacher's classroom
theme is all about sports!
He's in heaven!

Drew was so excited for school this morning
that he woke up before 7 all by himself!
He's so excited to be a 1st grader, so that
he can eat lunch and walk home with his boys!

It's going to be a quiet day around here
with just P.
We'll be happy when the boys get home!

Road to Hana

We started off our last day in Maui
snorkeling at Black Rock.
Ethan saw another big sea turtle.
Then it was off to Cheeseburger in Paradise for lunch.
The restaurant was right on the beach.
Beautiful view!

After lunch we started on the road to Hana.
The views were gorgeous.

Our favorite was the black sand beach
where Aar taught the boys to skip rocks.

Alex decided that we need to come
back once a year. I agree!

Beaches

Tuesday was our day of beaches.
We went to Napili, Po'olenalena, Makena Big Beach,
and Wailea.
We woke up early and attempted to
take a family picture at Napili Beach with
our tripod and timer.

We got a couple of cute ones.

We stayed at the Sheraton
in a Ohana suite which was amazing.
The boys loved the hammock
on the patio!

That evening they showed Bolt
on a big screen outside with popcorn
and punch.
The boys wanted to stay here longer!

We ended the day watching another
gorgeous Hawaiian sunset on the beach.

Maui

Sunday we were able to go to church
and spend the day with Grandma.
It was so nice to be with her!!

That evening we flew to Maui.
We stayed in Kanaapali - first at the Westin.
The hotel was right on the beach
which was beautiful!

The pool was so much fun with two waterslides,
a hidden pool, basketball hoop, and view of the beach.

Peyton loved the waterslide!

E and Alex had fun playing some hoop.

After a morning of fun in the sun
we drove up Haleakala.
It was amazing to go from sea level and 88 degrees
to 10,000 feet and 54 degrees in less than an hour.

I love these pictures of the boys
with the clouds and ocean!

That evening we ate dinner at the Hard Rock
in Lahaina and enjoyed a beautiful sunset!

More Fun in the Sun

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early
and headed to Hanauma Bay.

It was a gorgeous day
and no crowds at 7:30 am.

All the boys LOVED snorkeling!

The water was so clear and just the right depth.
Peyton loved that he could join in all the fun.

Alex and Drew became snorkel buddies.
They snorkeled for almost 45 minutes straight!
We finally had to send E out after them.

While the boys waited for Aar and E
to snorkel
I buried them in the sand.

E never wanted to leave.

After a fun morning of snorkeling
we decided to hike Manoa Falls.
This incredible hike was just past the University of Hawaii.

The scenery was breathtaking!

Compared to the hikes we've been doing
this was a piece of cake.
However, it was MUDDY and SLIPPERY!
We were filthy!

That evening GG watched the boys
and Aar and I were able to go to dinner
at an amazing restaurant
overlooking the ocean!
Aar was adventurous and ordered a surf plate
of ahi, swordfish, and ono.
I had to get the honey mustard ribs.
DELICIOUS!
The boys had so much fun with GG
and were not happy when we came to pick them up.
Another amazing day!

Day 3

Friday, the 10th was a busy day
as we headed to the North Shore.
First stop, at the recommendation
of Papa and GG,
Ted's Bakery for the famous
chocolate Macadamia Nut Pie.
As you can tell
it was delicious!

Next stop, BYU Hawaii.
The boys had a fun time wandering around the campus.

We then drove over to the temple
which has been closed for over a year
for major renovations.
We tried out our tripod and timer
for the first time.
Pretty good result....

Then it was off to Sunset Beach
to play.
Aar, E, and Alex all went snorkeling
and saw a giant sea turtle
and puffer fish.
Drew and P loved building
things in the sand.

After working up quite the appetite
we headed to Kua Aina for lunch.
My favorite - the chicken teriyaki sandwich.

This picture is priceless!

Then it was off to Matsumoto's for shaved ice.

A quick stop at the Dole Plantation
where Drew bought a ukelele with his own money
and formed a band
with Alex and P called the Travelers.

What a great day!
