Aloha Day 2

We woke up bright and early
and headed straight to the USS Arizona Memorial.
It opened at 7:30 am. We got there at 7:35 am
and the earliest tickets were for 1:00 pm,
so off to Kahlua Beach we went.

The boys LOVE the beach
even Peyton!

The boys enjoyed visiting Pearl Harbor.
P is still talking about the surprise attack
and what happened.
They were all very well behaved
and enjoyed learning about the events that took place.

We were able to visit my Grandma
that evening.
It was so great to see her!
The boys all loved GG!
She had survival kits for them
complete with candy, Goldfish, water, Pez, cars, and Teddy Grahams.
Alex kept asking if we could
move into the condo across the hall!

Paradise - Day 1

We're back from Hawaii!
It's hard to believe I was sitting on a beautiful beach just a couple of days ago.

Aaron redeemed 450,000 frequent flier miles
to fly us all first class!
That is definitely the way to travel to Hawaii!
In fact, when we landed the boys said
that there was no way that was a 7 hour flight!
Unlimited snacks and drinks, personal video systems,
and a meal made the boys very happy.
Drew didn't even mind that he
had to wear a golf shirt on the plane.
At first, he was upset as he wanted to wear
his usual attire of basketball shorts and Cars t-shirt.
I told him since we were flying
first class he needed to wear some "regular" clothes.
His response,
Oh, I get it. In first class, they don't get "STYLE!"

We got our luggage and checked into
the Embassy Suites a block away from Waikiki.
We weren't in the hotel for more than 5 minutes
before the boys were in their swimsuits.
We walked 1 block
and were at the beach.

The boys were fearless
and loved the water!

Hiking Woman

So, Natali is still refusing to update her blog (aka she's too busy). If you missed my post from a couple days ago, you missed a good one, she deleted it so no joy to be found. But I have noticed that Natali has had this strange urge to hike lately. She's taken the kids on two BIG hikes. First, she took them to hike the Y in Provo. Second, she took them to hike Mt. Timp. Both times without me. I'm starting to think she has a death wish, but she claims she has a good time and the boys love it. Enjoy.

I've Got Style

I've been meaning to blog about something funny Drew
told me a couple of weeks ago.
Our conversation went something like this:

D - Mom did you know Mackenzie has a crush on me?
Me - No, I didn't.
D - She has a crush which means her heart is filled up with love for me.
Do you know why she has a crush on me?
Mom - Because you're so handsome?
D - NO! It's because I've got style.
No one else in my class has any style.
You know I wear the coolest shirts and pants!

Space Derby

Instead of a Pinewood Derby this year
the Cub Scouts did a Space Derby.
Aar helped the boys build their
rockets.

It was a lot of fun watching
the boys launch their rockets.

What Drew Does When I'm Not Looking

I was working on the computer and happened upon this little prize.  It's a little long, but hilarious!
I'm noticing a trend in these last two posts.  Either I'm just not paying close enough attention or the boys are getting stealthier.

Big Boy

Apparently Peyton decided to stealthily move
himself downstairs with his boys
after I put him to bed tonight.

He packed all his essentials.
He even organized everything.

Clothes, his favorite toys, and books.

A sports section.

He came upstairs to tell me he just
finished some very hard work.
He was determined to sleep downstairs.
He finally fell asleep around 10:00 pm.

What a cutie!

Spring

I think we're going to be spending most
of our time outside from now on.

P said his buddies needed a ride
as soon as we got home from preschool.

D loves his bike!

Here's to hoping spring is actually here to stay!

Spring Cleaning

Look how we spent our Saturday afternoon...

Cleaning the garage.
It was very overdue.
In fact after everything was cleaned and organized
Drew said,
Hey our garage isn't junkie anymore!
Peyton exclaimed,
No more mess!
Aar even put up blinds.

(Tiger, I know you can't believe
we actually cleaned the garage!
Now if only we could get the kids
to stop eating in the car :) !)

Growing Up

D officially outgrew the small
bike he learned to ride on this week.
Aar was planning to build him one like Alex's,
but a quick trip to Costco
solved that.

He couldn't be more thrilled!

Despite the rain, D managed to ride
most of the afternoon.
Anytime there was a break
in the storm he was out riding.

I don't think he'll every come inside this summer!

Lacrosse

This morning was E and Alex's
first Lacrosse game.
They played really well.
Lacrosse is very fast paced
and fun to watch.

Ethan was the enforcer on defense. Here he is to the left of the Goal, he's the big guy.

He seemed to really enjoy
intimidating the other players. He's number 43 on the blue team taking out the player on Juan Diego.

Alex played forward and mid fielder.
I think he enjoyed forward the best.
Here he is with the ball. He's the one in blue, by himself with the ball. He's number 49 but he's facing us so you can't see his number.

On his way to the goal.. He's between 16 and 29 making a break for the goal.

Even though it was cold
we had a great time watching
the boys!

FYI -
Drew had a soccer game today
and scored 3 goals!
Sadly we forgot the camera.

Happy Easter

The boys had a great time
at the Easter egg hunt at Mimi and Papa's.
The boys officially have
male pattern blindness when it comes to finding
things.
It was hilarious!

Handsome Easter boys!

D was a little confused when I put on his "Easter outfit."
He told me,
This is no Easter outfit! This is a Sunday outfit!
Where is my Easter bunny suit?
You said I had a new Easter outfit.
NOT a Sunday outfit!

We made pork chops with apple stuffing,
Belize rice, and
roasted asparagus for dinner.
It was delicious!
It was fun having Mimi, Papa, T, and Rhett
over for dinner.
What a great Easter Sunday!

I never knew shooting my brother could be so much fun!

For my B-day my brother and family came over to spend some time. Ethan(my son) had the day before his B-day party with an Airsoft war. Uncle was intrigued, so out came the arsenal of Airsoft guns, AK-47, M-16(Full Auto), MP-5 (Full Auto), M9, Glocks, Uzi, Shotgun, and others. Uncle wondered if it hurt, not much I said as I shot him. :) Well, this appearantly got Uncle going. Watch for yourself, good times were had by all! Oh yes, Peyton decided to run too!!

Cruise Videos

Here are some video's from our cruise. First up are monkey's from Roatan, can you tell which one is Alex?

Next, in Belize we went to the Myan ruins of Lamanai.  First we had to ride on a boat for about an hour.

They have a temple that they believe is Olmec in origin from around 100 bc to around 600 ad, we got to hike to the top of it.

Peyton cheered us on.

The hardest part was getting down.

It was very fun!!
In Cozumel, we have no video but we did get some photos during scuba diving.

Catching Up Part II

Happy 6th birthday to Drew.
We managed to sneak in his Star Wars
birthday party hours before we left on the cruise.

Since D is not a fan of baked goods
he had hot dogs instead of cake.

He's growing up too fast.

Catching Up Part I

On February 28th Alex was baptized.
It was a wonderful day!
It's still hard to believe that
Alex is 8.
